HP InLine parallel hybrid propulsion
| Hydrosta, in collaboration with the Swiss Phi-Power AG, developed a unique parallel hybrid propulsion system for small and medium-sized ships.
This unique and compact system distinguishes itself from all common systems in the existing market because it does not use an electric motor placed outside the powertrain that functions via extra gears and/or drive belts.
With the HP InLine, the PM motor shaft is placed directly in line with the output shaft of the combustion engine and the marine gear and can therefore directly drive the propeller shaft when the combustion engine is stopped. In addition, it can function as a generator when sailing with the diesel engine switched on.
